Job Description:

The General Education Teacher will create tailored instruction in Humanities, Math, and Science. This role involves instructing and supporting all students in the classroom in order to achieve success. The General Education teacher may also be working in an ICT classroom, collaborating with a Special Education teacher. We are currently seeking teachers for all grades for the 24-25 school year.

General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Work collaboratively with grade teams
• Deliver engaging, academically rigorous tailored instruction
• Engage and participate in teacher growth and evaluation process
• Build strong classroom culture and community with all stakeholders
• Manage classroom behavior and monitor student goals
• Attend and actively participate all professional development and collaborative meetings
• Utilize data for instruction
• Able to inspire and motivate students
• Knowledge of current educational practices and methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
• At least two years of teaching experience strongly preferred
• New York State teacher certification in Childhood Education (Birth-2, Grades 1-6) strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills that contribute to collaboration as well as the willingness to participate in professional development
