The Show  

An electric dancehall party where showgoers will sing, dance, and connect with the music of Bob Marley in a captivating world of powerful live performances and pulsating reggae rhythms.

An illuminating multi-sensory experience that takes guests on a journey into the music, message, history and vision of Bob Marley’s life through engaging interactive installations. 

 

 

  TTP Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ACROBATIC RIGGER to join our growing production team that will deliver Bob Marley Hope Road at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas . The ACROBATIC RIGGER is dedicated to providing refined luxury service in order to create lasting and favorable memories. This position promotes, directs, and leads the company’s core service standards and brand attributes; supports the company’s sustainability initiatives and platform. The Acrobatic Rigger will work with the Head Rigger in maintaining and operating stage rigging systems and rigged acrobatic equipment for rehearsals and performances of Bob Marley Hope Road production, as well as ensuring a positive, forward-thinking, and safe environment. All duties are performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices and procedures. This role reports to the Technical Director overseeing the production team. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Oversee as appropriate and delegate responsibility to show personnel as directed by the Technical Director; 
  • Along with the Technical Director manage on a daily basis the rigging staff in regards to policies and procedures as well as all HR-related issues with the Technical Director; 
  • Preserve on a nightly, ongoing and long-term basis, the “opening night” quality of the designer’s vision and the artistic integrity of the production according to the needs of artistic, technical and company management; 
  • Work with artistic and stage management staff to support their needs during rehearsals, trainings and performances;
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by enforcing and conforming to established safety policies and procedures including: the enforcement of all protection protocols; the use of personal protective equipment; safe handling of tools, equipment and hazardous substances; the promotion of respect for the dangers of the working environment.

 

Other Specific Job Functions  

  • Ensure that all personnel adhere to and enforce company policies;
  • Work with the Artistic department on changes and ongoing development of the show;
  • Oversee the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and inspections – particularly life safety and show critical – for all equipment whether owned or otherwise that may not be directly owned by the company but has significance to the show and a relationship to the department’s function; ensure that these routines and inspections are appropriately documented;
  • Ensure all departmental designs, equipment, systems, functions, procedures, show tracks, maintenance and inspections logs, special projects, etc. are properly and adequately documented using standard tools, drawings, photographs, logs, spreadsheets and other methods that may be appropriate; creation and design intent should be documented as well as on-going changes to the show;
  • Ensure all aspects of all documentation created and/or maintained by the department are up-to-date;
  • Coordinate and direct special projects including the research, purchase, installation, testing, troubleshooting, integration and ongoing maintenance and inspection of all equipment and systems required for rehearsal, training and show applications as well as inter- or intra-departmental needs; estimating labor and materials for special projects;
  • Ensuring parts and supplies are stocked to meet ongoing needs of the show. 

 

 

Additional Duties/Job Skills  

  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show;
  • Ensure that all personnel are adequately and appropriately trained according to the guidelines established by the company and management as well as official agencies regulating safety and training requirements;
  • Establish emergency procedures for show systems and situations with technical management, stage management and the rest of the technical team and ensure that a artists, technicians and staff are familiar with and trained on all pertinent procedures and equipment; 
  • Coordinate with other show teams to ensure safe training, rehearsal and show environments and operations; 
  • Establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity of performance operations of the department in the event of the show team unexpected failure of a system, component or piece of equipment; 
  • Conduct regular pre-shift and other meetings to ensure timely and appropriate communication is occurring with and among personnel;
  • Be familiar with all and, in some cases, able to operate cue tracks within your team;
  • Perform all other duties necessary for the success of the team.  

 

Education/Experience  

  • Vocational diploma in related field;
  • 5 years’ experience in theatrical rigging, acrobatic rigging or five years in a similar position on large-scale productions;
  • Proof of current OSHA Training (within the last 3 years) if not, complete a 10-hour OSHA training course.
  • Proof of Fall Protection training, competency training and overall safety training;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software for Windows, and AutoCAD;
  • Experience with motorized and manual counterweight systems and acrobatic rigging installations essential; knowledge of sport climbing hardware an asset; knowledge of OSHA regulations.

  • Ability to occasionally reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.  
  • Ability to physically stand, walk, and climb stairs on a consistent basis. 
  • This position could be exposed to loud noises, and frequent phone conversations, and requires average to above average visual acuity and hearing. 
  • Most of this job will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment 

 

Compensation/Additional Information  

Expected weekly rate: $1,650.00. TTP Entertainment also offers excellent medical, dental and vision insurance, plus additional paid time off. 

 

This role is based in Las Vegas, NV and operates in a full-time in-person capacity. This individual is expected to work primarily onsite at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
