Job Summary:

Our client is a growing, client-focused public accounting firm in Louisville, KY, specializing in tax services and support for private businesses. They are seeking an experienced CPA Firm Manager to join our team and lead day-to-day operations within their tax and private business practice areas. This role offers a unique opportunity to help lead a diverse client base, mentor a team of professionals, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management & Service Delivery:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, with a primary focus on tax compliance, tax planning, and consulting for private businesses and their owners.
• Develop strong, lasting relationships with clients by providing high-quality, responsive service, and addressing client needs proactively.
• Coordinate and manage the preparation of tax returns for businesses and individuals, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Advise clients on complex tax matters, business structure optimization, succession planning, and other strategic issues.
• Review and supervise the preparation of financial statements, working papers, and reports for business clients.

Operational Management:

• Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and client service.
• Collaborate with the partners to develop and implement firm-wide policies, processes, and best practices for efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Monitor financial performance and contribute to the achievement of firm revenue and profitability goals.

Business Development & Firm Growth:

• Identify opportunities for expanding services to existing clients and contribute to cross-selling efforts across the firm.
• Stay up to date on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and other relevant regulations to ensure the firm provides cutting-edge solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

• Education & Certification:
• CPA certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Taxation or related field preferred, but not required.
• Experience with Trust tax services would be a plus but is not a required.

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on tax compliance.
• Experience working with private businesses, including closely held corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietors.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and client relationships.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations and accounting principles, particularly in the context of small to mid-sized private businesses.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and staff alike.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
