Tech Valley Talent (TVT) has an opening for a DevOps Platform/Tools Engineer.
DURATION: 6+ months
LOCATION: Hybrid; Albany, New York - every other Tues-Thurs onsite
NO third parties - must work on our W2.
Seeking a DevOps Platform/Tools Engineer with 9+ years of experience who specializes in Linux system administration .
The primary responsibility of this role includes managing and optimizing a suite of DevOps and IT tools, such as Jira Cloud, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Tableau, etc., to ensure effective integration and maintenance within a Linux-based infrastructure.
Individual should have strong Linux, Ansible and AWS experience.
This position is critical in enhancing operational capabilities, as well as ensuring the efficiency and security of systems.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in Linux system administration, with a strong focus on managing complex environments.
• Preferred experience includes familiarity with anyone of AWS, Azure, or other cloud services.
• Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Shell script, PowerShell or Python.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins etc.
• Hands-on experience with managing and administering Linux systems.
Day to Day Tasks
• Manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with tooling and operational needs.
• Take ownership of a wide range of DevOps and IT tools, overseeing their installation, configuration, maintenance, and integration in a Linux environment.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, enhance system performance, and ensure efficient operation of tools on Linux platforms.
• Monitor system health and performance, rapidly identifying and resolving issues within tooling landscape and Linux systems.
• Ensure that all tools and Linux systems comply with industry standards and regulations, particularly focusing on security best practices.
• Provide expert-level support and guidance to other teams regarding tool usage and Linux system optimization.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tool management procedures, Linux system configurations, and best practices.
