Facilities Security Officer

Department: Security & IT – Security

Job Type: Full-time / On-site

Eligibility Requirement:

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Security Officer (FSO) to develop, implement, and manage a high-performing security program that ensures compliance with all regulatory and government policies. This role is responsible for overseeing physical, personnel, and industrial security programs , ensuring alignment with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD254), and other relevant policies.

As the primary point of contact for security matters, the FSO will coordinate closely with government agencies, manage facility clearance processes, and support the accreditation of secure facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to security risk management and a commitment to safeguarding personnel, assets, and classified information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all physical and personnel security operations across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
  • Implement a risk-based approach to security program management.
  • Protect and manage personally identifiable information (PII) and sensitive data related to personnel security.
  • Enforce Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) security requirements in federal contracts.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Program Protection Plans (PPP) , including technical guidance, policy documentation, and training materials.
  • Maintain official security records subject to government audits.
  • Manage access control for vendors, contractors, and visitors to secure facilities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, government representatives, and external stakeholders on security matters.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement, federal investigators, and emergency response teams .
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and training programs for employees.
  • Oversee foreign travel security and reporting for employees traveling to sensitive locations.
  • Track security clearance investigations , manage DISS/eQIP administration, and handle visit requests.
  • Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for employees.
  • Process badge requests and maintain access control systems.
  • Review and manage DD254 contract security requirements .
  • Perform annual self-inspections for the facility and any accredited secure areas (SCIFs).

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in security operations, preferably in a NISP-regulated environment.
  • Proven experience as an FSO or CPSO , managing a successful National Industrial Security Program (NISP) .
  • Hands-on experience applying for and establishing an Industrial Facility Clearance (FCL) through DCSA.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Expert knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and COMSEC requirements.
  • Ability to conduct objective and professional security investigations.
  • Proficiency in security software, access control systems, and Microsoft Office Suite .
  • Completion of Defense Security Service (DSS) FSO training .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification .
  • Experience with SCIF accreditation and maintenance .
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) policies.
  • Familiarity with ITAR and Export Control regulations .
