POSTION SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented, client-service oriented Junior Paralegal to join our paralegal team in our Chicago office. This is an entry-level position, although 1-3 years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant is preferred.

The role is primarily litigation, but the position may support various practice groups, including litigation, investigations, and government controversies.

Qualified individuals must have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and be able to take direction. Overtime and travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Providing comprehensive practice support and case management.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence, notices, documents, and forms
  • Organize electronic and paper documents for various purposes, including for use at depositions, hearings, and trial.
  • May file documents in various courts and jurisdictions
  • Organization of documents for use at depositions, hearings, and trial.
  • Conduct research, as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance and organization of case team documents.
  • Assist with preparation of briefs and other legal documents.
  • Monitor deadlines and due dates, including organization and tracking of court filings, correspondence, deposition transcripts and exhibits, document collections and expert materials.
  • Search and preserve information within document review platform.
  • Organize and prepare trial materials, specifically filings, witness prep materials, trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition designations and demonstratives.
  • May attend and assist at trial and arbitrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution
  • Flexibility for overtime and out-of-town travel, as required
  • Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow
  • Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite strongly preferred
  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and client service skills

The anticipated pay range for this role is $60,000-$80,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
