Job Description

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Candidate will be designing structures associated to the metals processing industry.
• Projects can take as little as 15 hours to complete, or as long as 1+ month
• Pretty much all custom work- no two designs are the same
• Will design large structures, enclosures, assemblies, etc.
• Create BOM’s, and interface with vendors (usually after 2+ years of employment)
• 15% shop floor, rest is at a desk.
• Utilize Solidworks for 2d and 3D drawings
• FEA simulations, and engineering calculations will be used.
• Manage project from start to finish
• Client has a plant in Canada, USA, and Mexico. All designs are done in USA.

Required Skills (Must have):

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering
• Fabrication, heavy industrial design
• Understanding of assemblies- how items fit together on a large scale
• Little to no electrical- basically all mechanical drawings
• Sheet metal, steel, etc. design experience
• 5-10 years of experience

Preferred Skills (Nice to have):

• Project Management
• BOM creation
• Finite element analysis (FEA)
• Solidworks 2 and 3 D- can look at other software’s
