Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ’ company, is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (Women's Health, Locum Tenens) in support of Lawton Indian Hospital. The Nurse Practitioner will provide outpatient, non-urgent care services to beneficiaries of the Indian Health Service at the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Lawton Indian Hospital is a full-service hospital providing a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and public health services. Their mission is to “raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska natives (AI/AN) to the highest level possible.” They provide “approximately 800 admissions and over 185,000 outpatient visits per year.” For more information about the hospital, please visit

Position details:

• 1099, $100-110/hour
• Full time
• Chenega covers medical malpractice insurance
• Patient Volume: Estimated 20 per day

Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.
• Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Contract Health Service (CHS) vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
• Document services in the electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork day of appointment to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review.
• Provide consultation to the Emergency Department health care providers on an as needed basis.
• Complete and sign their encounter orders and progress notes daily.
• Provide Nurse Practitioner services in all departments, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Possess current certification as a nurse practitioner with training commensurate with the training required by the position by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active DEA license.
