Paladin is now LHH Recruitment Solutions! We are working with our Portland, OR based food and beverage client to recruit a Sales Executive to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for hunting new business opportunity with clients across many industries. You will be the "hunter" end of the sales cycle for this organization, focusing on sourcing new leads and market intel, opening doors with new clients, and expanding existing relationships. You will also work in tandem with a team of account managers who will handle the post-sale work so you can focus on what you do best - generate new business and contribute to the company's growth into new partners and industries. We're looking for 3+ years of B2B sales experience with a strong focus on candidates with food, beverage or CPG experience. This organization has a longer, complex sales cycle with complex R&D and vetting processes for new projects and clients, so comfort in this setting is required, and experience in a similar cycle is preferred. Ramp up takes time but provides opportunity to become an expert in their unique space! Like any B2B sales role, you should be confident in your skills on the phone and in-person, comfortable traveling to visit clients, and skilled in researching and penetrating new markets.

This is a hybrid role focusing on candidates in Oregon or SW Washington comfortable with travel to the company's Oregon office and around the state to visit clients frequently throughout the month. Frequent travel is required, and you can expect 40%+. This is a salaried role with commission based on growth and total sales. Base ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, with significant additional quarterly commissions earning potential based on new business and orders. You will:

  • Work on a small team "hunter" sales staff, focused on market, brand footprint and client base growth through conducting cold calls, creative outreach, trade show attendance, networking and more
  • Expand existing relationships and identify opportunities within current clients
  • Serve as a key market expert in company strategic planning, providing intelligence, lead knowledge and personal insights to aid in developing sales and company strategy
  • Maintain in-depth industry knowledge of the food and beverage space as a whole, identifying new target clients, industries and more and creating opportunity within those spaces

Your experience should include:

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience with comfort conducting cold calls and other outreach to generate new business
  • Experience in sales within the food, beverage or CPG industry, highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or other higher education, preferred
  • In-depth CRM experience
  • Experience capitalizing on trade shows and networking events as opportunities
