About the Role

The Senior Manager Distribution is responsible for the execution of the Inbound functions at the Ariat HUB Operations. The individual in this role will ensure 3rd party logistics provider understands Service, Operational and Financial KPI’s and drive plan execution. This position is also responsible for managing communication up and down within the supply chain to appropriately represent activities taking place in the HUB Distribution Center and work closely with other departments to ensure execution.

This position requires managing dynamic circumstances and having the ability to make sound independent decisions based on multiple considerations. Must interface effectively with wide range of personnel under all situations and be both directive and responsive. It is essential to manage effectively at multiple levels of the organization. Communication skills, interpersonal skills, planning skills, personal organization skills and ability to make rational decisions based on the data are important.

You’ll Make a Difference By

  • Overseeing all aspects of inbound distribution operations, including receiving, replenishment, inventory control, and cycle counting for wholesale, retail, and direct-to-consumer orders.
  • Managing the department budget, maximizing dollars, and reducing costs through improving performance and increasing efficiency.
  • Driving continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, service levels, and inventory accuracy.
  • Planning to ensure throughput capacity meets monthly volume requirements.
  • Leading and managing staff to achieve goals and deliver superior performance by improving lead times and service levels.
  • Ensuring proper policies and procedures are in place for tracking and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Building superior analytical and forecasting capabilities through leveraging technology and developing team skills.
  • Managing third-party distribution relationships and determining appropriate long-term distribution strategies to support company growth.
  • Collaborating proactively with business unit leaders, inventory planning, customer service, sales, and production to support customer requirements and fulfill delivery expectations.
  • Reporting to senior management on operational and productivity metrics, resource needs, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

About You

  • 10 years of experience in the distribution of consumer products or footwear/apparel in a wholesale or retail environment.
  • Strong judgment and knowledge of when to escalate issues to the senior team.
  • High integrity and strong business ethics.
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative analysis capabilities.
  • Strong financial and P&L management; metric driven.
  • Decisive, visionary leadership skills with the ability to balance strategy and day-to-day tactical issues.
  • Ability to establish realistic commitments and execute effectively.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly collaborative business partner; works well with peers and across all organizational levels.
  • Proven experience managing and implementing significant change in rapidly growing organizations.
  • Attention to detail, combining hands-on capabilities with a high-level strategic view.
  • Experience implementing warehouse management systems.
  • Experience in planning and forecasting; skilled at making appropriate risk/reward tradeoffs and business decisions with limited or incomplete information.
  • Proven success in hiring, retaining, and managing talented individuals.
  • 5+ years of experience desired in managing third-party warehouse partners.
