Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join a world leading trader of agricultural commodities as Trade Support Specialist , supporting the trading team and US General Manager . The position is responsible for the management of positions (physical, futures and interest rate hedge) as well as to facilitate and maintain various trading reports. The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.

Our Volcafe Way farmer support programme engages with thousands of coffee farmers and provides a holistic response to the challenges they face.

Salary: $70,000 - 90,000 base salary, discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Accountabilities

Trade Support Responsibilities

• Maintain and update market, futures, inventory, open differential, and traceability reports with precision.
• Processing daily sales, fixations, and contract addendums to ensure timely delivery of products and services within contracted terms.
• Prepare end of month reports with the General Manager in coordination with US and global trading teams.
• Partners with Logistics, Quality and Finance teams to streamline processes and enhance customer experiences.
• Execute hedging activities in the futures market, ensuring compliance with terms and credit requirements.

Sales Support Responsibilities

• Identify and develop leads in target markets networking and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain and update CRM systems to track leads and opportunities efficiently.
• Contribute to business development strategies to drive cost-effective, high value opportunities.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree business, finance, economics, agriculture, or related field.
• Considerable experience within the Trade or Sales Support or Execution, ideally within commodity trading (coffee trading preferably), FMCG industries or Banking if working directly with commodities.
• Exposure to futures trading or hedge execution – highly advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel essential and database experience with VBA, Python or SQL -highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus for problem solving and process improvement.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of sustainability standards and certifications including FLO, FTUSA, RFA and 4C - highly advantageous.
