Job Description

Job Description: Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wetland Scientist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting wetland delineations, assessments, and monitoring projects throughout California. This role involves fieldwork, data analysis, and report preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wetland ecology, hydrology, and soil science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wetland delineations and assessments in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act.
  • Perform fieldwork, including vegetation surveys, soil sampling, and hydrological assessments.
  • Analyze data and prepare detailed reports and maps.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of wetland restoration and mitigation plans.
  • Stay current with wetland science research and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in wetland delineation and assessment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wetland regulations, including Section 401 and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
  • Proficiency in GIS and other mapping software.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
