Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Sentinel Safety Group is currently seeking to hire two (2) safety professionals on a contract basis to fill a 3 month (12 week) health and safety contract consultant role for one of our clients in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. These positions will work as a part of our client’s EHS team to assist the site with performing job safety analysis and work observations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years experience managing and performing EHS related activities in a manufacturing environment working with OSHA’s general industry regulations.
  • Bachelors Degree in a safety or science related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a bargaining unit environment is a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable in the general industry regulations and common work practices, especially pertaining to Mobile Equipment, Cranes, LOTO, Electrical, Confined Space, Machine Guarding, Fall Protection/Prevention and PPE.
  • This is very much a boots on the ground and hands-on position. Must be willing and able to spend the majority of each shift (7+ hours) on the floor making observations of work tasks and intervening as needed to coach and counsel employees in safe work habits and practices.
  • Experience with conflict resolution 
  • Experience in Job Hazard Analysis 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to train and speak in front of groups of varying size

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a member of the site EHS team
  • Spend majority of each shift on the shop floor
  • Perform JSA, work area inspections and employee observations
  • Conduct and/or participate in incident investigations as needed
  • Develop reports of findings and observations and submit to site EHS team

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • This is an on-site role (no remote work) that is anticipated to last 12 weeks with the potential for work extension
  • 40 hour work weeks, Monday – Friday, that may require some off-shift work as needed
  • The role is anticipated to begin as soon as possible and no later than mid-June 2025
  • No per diem, travel expense reimbursement or relocation is available (local candidates to the Milwaukee area only please)
  • No benefits are available for this position at this time
  • Pre-employment background check and Drug&Alcohol Testing required
  • Work demands for our client may require, but not be limited to, working indoors and outdoors, working at heights, periodic shift work, walking/standing on concrete floors for 8 hours per day, climbing ladders/stairs and exposure to noise and temperature extremes.
