Job Title: Senior Nuclear Scheduler

Location: Surry, VA

Type: 12-Month Contract (with potential extension based on performance and project need)

Schedule: 4x10s (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 1 day remote per week; 3 weeks on-site, 1 week remote per month)

Per Diem: $100/day ($700/week) for candidates residing more than 50 miles from site

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Nuclear Scheduler to join a dynamic team supporting large-scale power generation projects at a nuclear facility in Surry, VA. This role is critical to ensuring the effective planning, scheduling, and execution of station and capital projects, including emergent outages. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Primavera P6 and a thorough understanding of nuclear work control processes, critical path analysis, and project integration techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all projects are executed with safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules using Primavera P6, SAP, and other planning tools.
  • Provide accurate and current schedule updates , including project progress, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and earned value metrics.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Station Management, Outage Management , contractors, and various departments to create and integrate cohesive work plans.
  • Use advanced scheduling techniques such as Critical Path Method (CPM), PERT charts, resource leveling, and cost management.
  • Conduct job walkdowns prior to schedule development and perform on-site status checks to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Lead and facilitate planning and scheduling meetings , delivering clear updates and identifying potential risks or schedule conflicts.
  • Prepare and present reports outlining shift activities, weekly goals, milestones, and schedule performance metrics.
  • Assist in the development of standardized scheduling processes and reporting formats across projects and teams.
  • Support SAP job planning including permit integration, account coding, and tracking of requisitions and material deliveries.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent, directly related experience as a project or outage scheduler in a nuclear setting .
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 within the past 5 years .
  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear project scheduling , work control processes, and power generation environments.
  • Strong understanding of critical path scheduling, resource management, cost tracking , and planning methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical project plans into actionable schedules .

  • More than 3 years of scheduling experience in the nuclear industry .
  • Familiarity with emergent outage planning and capital project lifecycle scheduling .
