Role Description

The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring trades personnel (both union and non-union) to meet workforce demands, and other positions as determined by the Senior Talent and Culture Manager. This role will focus primarily on the Nashville and Indianapolis markets by building relationships with local union representatives and trade organizations, high schools and colleges, attending hiring events, and developing strategies to attract skilled tradespeople. Additionally, they will coordinate with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates to support ongoing and future projects.

Responsibilities

  • Source, screen, and hire qualified trades personnel.
  • In union markets, develop and maintain strong relationships with local union halls and representatives
  • In non union markets, identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with potential hiring sources
  • Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to forecast and plan workforce needs
  • Source potential candidates through online and in-person channels (e.g. social platforms, professional networks including recruiting from High schools, Trade Schools, Colleges, industry groups etc.)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of union hiring practices to remain compliant
  • Track and manage candidate data, hiring activity, and recruitment metrics
  • Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by project
  • Foster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment strategies and candidate engagement
  • Follows the proper onboarding process of new hires (I-9 process, E-Verify, drug testing, new employee orientation etc.) and collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth welcome into the company
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, preferably with a focus on skilled trades or union labor
  • Understanding of union hiring processes and labor agreements preferred
  • Experience recruiting in construction or related industries is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Spanish-speaking ability is preferred to support communication with a diverse workforce
  • Ability to travel between the Nashville and Indianapolis markets as needed
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
