Under minimal supervision, the Senior Benefits Analyst will assist with the design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including health & welfare benefit plans, 401(k) plan, and other employee services, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. This role demands a profound grasp of benefits administration and the intricate pathways through which information flows across diverse systems, coupled with adeptness in pinpointing potential bottlenecks and the proficiency to effectively address these challenges.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including health & welfare benefit plans, 401(k) plan, and other employee services
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment planning and execution. Help develop effective communication strategy to educate and reach diverse employee population
  • Advise and counsel employees and dependents on day-to-day benefit-related questions (via email, phone, walk-ups, and drop-in sessions)
  • Partner with finance, payroll, HRIS, legal, and vendors to effectively and efficiently perform all aspects of benefit program management, including ensuring accuracy of benefit deductions and streamlining current processes and procedures to ensure proper data flow to relevant parties
  • Reconcile provider premium billing statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Keep abreast of policies, legislative changes, and legal requirements, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act to assist with plan compliance efforts
  • Execute company wellness initiatives and employee services
  • Responsible for ensuring seamless communication and data flow between multiple systems both internally and externally
  • Must be able to work at corporate office a minimum of three days per week

Minimum Required

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in health & welfare and retirement benefit administration functions, including vendor interaction points, employee changes and qualifying events, appeals, and the annual enrollment experience
  • Expert level proficiency with Excel including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, etc. is required
  • Experience with Health Savings Accounts, Self-Funded Plans (a.k.a. Self-Insured Plans) experience required
  • Excellent analytical, statistical, and reporting skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, etc.) and familiarity with global benefits regulations a strong plus.
  • Ability to use independent judgment
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple high-priorities in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of Excel macros is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Highly collaborative style and strong team orientation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Preferred

  • Benefits or human resources certification and affiliations (CEBS, PHR, etc.)
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization is strongly preferred
  • 3 years of project management experience, including excellent planning, time management, decision making and organizational skills. Exposure to difficult or complex projects while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with the following software is a plus: Alight Worklife, Success Factors
  • Experience administering international benefits is a plus
